AdaptableOrg brings you the latest thoughts and approaches to the future of management.
We believe that there exists an opportunity for companies to harness more productivity and creativity from their people and their organization. We believe that organizations can be “adaptable” and outsmart their competition by understanding and morphing to the dynamic marketplaces of the 21st century. We also believe that sustainable competitive advantage ultimately goes to those organizations with the best management systems.
However, to reap these benefits, organizations need to reinvent the traditional management approaches that have been in place since the late 1800s. In simple terms, we must reinvent management. AdaptableOrg, as an entity, exists to assist you in your efforts to explore the ideas behind the future of management, to assist you to assess your own organization’s inherent capabilities and trajectory, and to provide access both to the new practices and to the other people who are walking down the same path as you.
The AdaptableOrg website is our effort to do the dirty work of finding and filtering the latest thoughts and ideas on trends and new practices on the future of management. We benefit from a world class set of experts who will do their best to find and promote the top articles from each week. They are listed below and would welcome any questions that you may have.
We have broken the site into several areas. They are as follows:
Management Innovation – thoughts on the trends in the global marketplace and society that are influencing the reinvention of business models and management approaches, including real life case studies.
Prepared Minds – thoughts on trends and practices in equipping organizations with the information (operational and marketplace) and understanding to be ready and able to add value to their businesses.
Strategic Alignment – thoughts on trends and practices to communicate purpose, direction, and drivers while maintaining efforts to both exploit current opportunities and capabilities while exploring new opportunities and capabilities.
Resource Fluidity – thoughts on trends and practices to allocate resources to a portfolio of initiatives, including both long term commitments as well as new, untested ideas that ebb and flow independent of fiscal planning cycles.
Organizational Culture – thoughts on trends and practices in the values, norms, and expectations of corporate teams and that of the interactions and information flows that should be expected.
Emerging Technologies – thoughts on trends and technologies that are enabling and, honestly, pushing organizations to adopt new ways of working and managing.
We hope that you enjoy the site and we welcome your feedback. Please send along your comments. For general comments or questions, please reach out to george.veth@adaptableorg.com. Enjoy.
